Areas of Expertise

Individual Therapy

I provide individual therapy to adults who are dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. My compassionate and effective approach is includes elements of Rogerian/Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I work with my clients to develop coping strategies and tools to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. Whether you are looking to improve your mental health, cope with a difficult time, or simply want to work on personal growth, I am here to help.

I have special knowledge and expertise in treating Highly Sensitive People (HSPs).  It is one of my goals in this world to help HSPs learn to protect their sensitive energy and learn to see their differences as a gift.

I also have knowledge and expertise in helping victims of Narcissistic Abuse recover from the trauma and fallout of having loved and lost a Narcissistic partner.

Additional Information

Helping clients increase their ability to be more compassionate and kind to themselves is one of my favorite ways to help them improve their moods and their relationships.  Please click this link to learn more about self-compassion: www.self-compassion.org

Mindfulness is the ability to stay in the present moment without judgment.  Mentally moving into the past or the future can increase difficulties with depression and anxiety, but staying in the present moment can alleviate these difficulties.  Please click this link to learn more about the practice of mindfulness: https://jonkabat-zinn.com/

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps people learn ways to improve their interactions with others, and their ability to self-soothe and self -regulate.  Please click this link to learn more about Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: https://dialecticalbehaviortherapy.com/

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps people to identify thoughts that are unhelpful to their mental health and wellbeing and learn how to change them into thoughts that are more helpful.  To learn more about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, please click on this link: CognitiveBehavioralTherapy

Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) are the 20% of the population who have a genetic trait known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity.  HSPs have a increased depth of processing, are more easily overwhelmed, high amounts of empathy and sensory sensitivity.  If this sounds like a trait that might fit for you, please seek more information at www.hsperson.com.

Narcissistic Abuse is used to describe a pattern of treatment where the perpetrator begins by "love-bombing" the victim (sending flowers, texts, taking on romantic dates and trips), and then insidiously begins to devalue the victim leading up to dumping them.  For more information please visit Narcissistic Abuse
